It only takes a small gesture to make an enormous impact.
Monday is Random Acts of Kindness Day, so take the opportunity to do something special and surprising, whether it’s for a family member, friend or a stranger. It’s not an official holiday, but there’s never a bad time to get in the giving spirit.
You don’t need to go to the bank, make a huge withdrawal and hand it all to the person waiting in line behind you. But, what about the person waiting in line behind you at a coffeehouse? How about picking up the tab for their drink?
Be creative. If you have kids and they run through your neighbor’s garden, buy them some flowers. If you have a family member you visit often and invade their kitchen as if it were your own, swing by with some groceries.
Your generosity will certainly be appreciated and hopefully, the recipient will pay it forward. Your act of kindness may not change someone’s life, but it might change his or her day – and yours. Sometimes, you can’t put a price on that.
